Meet International Image maker Rodney Rascona
November 2003
We came across Rodney while searching for a photographer
to handle an international project for one of our
clients. During the review of many skilled photographers
out there, we found Rodney's work and career experiences
to be particularly interesting, enough so that
we thought Artyears would find his view on the
industry and the depth of his professional and
personal
work, inspiring. So lets spend a bit of time getting
to know this heavyweight image maker....
At an early age of 17, Rodney traveled
to England to begin his career path as a photographer.
Now, 28 years later, he's found a way to reach beyond
his award winning work for the advertising industry
and has focused his skills on creating images that
make a difference through his work around the globe
for a humanitarian NGO. Auto specialist and a producer
of reportage images, Rodney seeks projects where serious
images require a serious image maker.
Rascona has pursued his passion
relentlessly, creating excellent images through hard
work and perseverance, in a very tough market. With over
two decades of serving the design and advertising industry,
Rascona is one of the select few photographers that,
among other disciplines, specializes in car images.
His International experience combines years of studio and
location skills, producing images in 40 countries around
the world and across the USA. More importantly, his work
for Food for the Hungry International, a humanitarian organization
working around the world in over 30 countries, has resulted
in a rich body of poignant images that are considered to
be the most important work Rodney
has created.
As a highly experienced image maker,
Rodney found a way to give something back and along the
way, utilize his abilities to help those
that need their message heard by those that can help.
From Africa, Asia or South America, no matter wherever
he's sent, he attempts to create images of consequence
to give a human face to those that need the help. There
are a world of troubles out there and as communicators,
we all should seek ways that we can help honest organizations
that are dealing with the
human condition
every day.
With a journey as long and cherished as his, our team
invited the candid photographer to narrate his story.
